The family counselling and conversations on organ donation is one of the most poignant and emotionally intensive conversations that one could ever have. Supporting a family grappling with the devastating loss of a loved one is paramount. The death of the person has to be communicated clearly. Offering a family the option of organ donation needs to be done with sensitivity and empathy. All families need to be offered this option. Thereafter, it is up to the family to make a decision that is right for them.

The overall training was very informative and well-coordinated. I would especially like to appreciate Ms. Sujatha for her excellent coordination and clear way of explaining the topics. All my questions were addressed effectively, which made the learning experience very valuable. I would like to share a few suggestions for improvement. During the training period, I was observing Ramzan, and the sessions sometimes extended beyond the scheduled time (4–6 PM), which made it difficult to manage during iftar time. It would be helpful if sessions could be concluded on time or adjusted accordingly, or even extended over additional days if required. Additionally, since many participants like me are working professionals and often enrol through self-funded programs, conducting sessions after working hours would be more convenient and supportive. Regarding the exam, it was scheduled during working hours, and due to company policies and system restrictions (such as limitations on accessing external websites and screen recording requirements), it became challenging to attempt the exam on office systems. At the same time, mobile devices do not provide an optimal experience. Making the exam timing more flexible or convenient would be highly beneficial. I am sharing this feedback genuinely because I found the training very valuable and would be interested in attending more courses in the future.

I have a strong suggestion that the same manner deceased donor transplant has a common app / portal to upload the documents of donor and recipients, there should be a portal for living donor transplant’s documents to be uploaded. The veracity and genuineness of the same should be verified by a government agency like Transtan before listing before state level or district level authorisation committee.
